Food of the Fifties with Ruth Chier Rosen

Ruth Chier Rosen’s cookbooks are the go-to source for almost any recipe you desire—from the simplest cocktail to the most sophisticated soufflé. With decades of culinary experience packed into 30+ cookbooks under the Handy Aid Cookbooks Press, Ruth specializes in creating simple but delicious and dazzling dishes and drinks. Her books are great for the beginning cook or the seasoned chef.

Handy Aid Cookbooks Press began publishing over 60 years ago in New York City. We're still here, with Ruth still at the helm. Under her direction we just finished publishing another book; check out her A Guide to Pink Elephants, Volume 1 recipe book at iTunes. Now you can take over 175 drink recipes with you to your favorite bars & challenge your barman or barwoman with long-lost artful cocktail recipes.

Our ORIGINAL ISSUE Cookbooks are available in a variety of styles:

  • All of our MINT CONDITION Vintage Cookbooks have never been used, but they have seen some years go by in storage. All of our cookbooks are delivered in original-issue box packaging.
  • The DESIGNER BOX EDITION is available for a few of our publications. They are rare. They are packaged in decorated boxes that display the cover art of the book it houses.
  • GIFT BOX SETS: Several of Ruth's best sellers were also offered in gift configurations. Original-issue books were paired with thematic kitchen tools and utensils like salt & pepper mills and serving spoons. All are original-issue, in original packaging from the 50's, 60's, and 70's.

Coming soon: T-shirts, napkins, and totes!
